Appears to me that either Bin Splits or Yield (Or both) have improved again...... Shifting the center of the Bell Curve upwards.

JFD “The Pentium 4 1.6GHz chip is today being quoted at $125, the 1.7GHz processor at $150 and the 1.8GHz CPU at $180”

Since AMD quantiSpeed™ speed grades are quagmired only painful experiences will be in store for Dan3 and companions. After all there are Pentium 4 2.4’s, 2.2’s 2.0’s and 1.9’s in abundance.

RE:"JM and All: Anyone know anything about this?"

Yes...AMD has already cut in anticipation. I expect Intel to cut around the introduction of a new speed grade.

I think Intel is cutting mobile prices as well as the northwood ramp continues.

I don't think the computer industry is recovering very fast...

take a look at ML report that I posted few minutes back. ML is hinting on lack of demand. If I recall it correctly, there was also theories yesterday of double-booking backfiring after initial pick-up in demand.
