re: The Russians on the other hand weren't all good because they also committed some war crimes (although these were driven by revenge for the war crimes Germans brought about them earlier).

you have some nerves to say that, Russians, prior to entering Germany, came through Poland's death camps. And yet German's were decently treated.
I recall a book that was based on actual events when german farmer came to complain to Russian officer about soldier killing his pig. "very young pig that could have still grow, etc" and later that officer discovers that that farmer used ashes from near-by death camp.

Just because of the responses like that I do not believe that germany has right to exist.

And on that basis you don't think Germany has the right to exist? That's a pretty sick comment........and a racist one at that. FWIW, there are people from every culture that have committed atrocities and that includes the Jews and the Israelis. To judge a whole culture based on the behavior of a few is what keeps the war raging in the Mid East.

Come on, I think you are overreacting. Germany made a huge mistake as a nation, following a fanatical leader for a while, but they paid a price, changed, and there is some 57 year of evidence that they changed into a peaceful country.

As far as brutality of advancing Russian troops, why deny it? My grandfather had to hide my mother and grandmother when the Russians advanced through our small town in Slovakia, so that they were not raped, like many others were. That's one of the unfortunate byproducts of war.
