Ted, let me put it another way. I think a total and complete surrender is healthier only when the one who surrenders clearly knows they were in the wrong. The Palestinians do not feel that they are in the wrong.......rather they believe they are fighting for their independence. How is the line about victory having 1000 fathers and defeat being an orphan? (I probably butchered it). Nobody wants to be on the losing side. Even fewer want to be ont the losing side repeatedly.
