it was closer to 20mil
re: In addition he was allied with Hitler until the allies offered him a better deal.
there was a peace treaty between two countries while as was discovered later considered the war unavoidable. Allies did not offer anything to Russia. In 1941 German trooped attacked Russia. In fact, Stalin thought that he would have at least few years more so army was not armed and Stalin killed pretty much all of the officer core.
Both Stalin and Hitler were "evil". But no matter how I dislike Stalin and that he personally did not like Jews but just calling a jew "kike" or of the sort carried mandatory prison sentence that would probably put you to grave. And Stalin did not try to exterminate small group of people based on race. I do not feel like defending Stalin anymore.....
re: Jews and all Israelis are saints?
by no means we are saints but the atrocities were against the jews and not other way around. Jews never had enough power. Peter the Great put a Jew to have absolute power while he was abroad and that put the whole country in a shock by itself, no atrocities were needed. :-))
But seriously speaking, the only country in the last 2000 where jews had power short of modern Israel was Khazaria. That country is remembered because that was the only country until very recently where citizens were free to practice any religion they would want. And for it's peace and prosperity until Oleg, the Russian knyaz (chief) attacked and destroyed the country.

In addition he was allied with Hitler until the allies offered him a better deal.
