Pure accident that, a young friend had been showing me something on the net and along the way we had ripped over that, i thought it worthy of note and you had the last post in line .... 'the People, meaning them' - yes, many of what became known as names in english for tribes actually translated into 'people' in the local tongue ... while non-members of the tribe or lingual group were known as 'others' as in 'other human-like forms', terms close to 'threat' or 'enemy'

'I wonder what made Joseph say that... ' ... Brant had seen the genocide building in the thirteen colonies and chose the loyalists as the most logical allies under the circumstances ... he fought with distinction and while being honoured for it the suggestion was made that he bow to demonstrate fealty, that speech was his response ..... a brilliant man, and like Mozart and Mark Twain and a lot of other men including George Washington, a mason - freemasonry.bcy.ca

A descendant of his people, some years later -

"One time we were sitting up on a hill looking down and I'll bet you
there were 10,000 [South Korean refugees] moving. My thoughts
went back to my own history - when my relatives moved from the
United States. I thought, 'Wow, we did this once.' "
