He conned the Ayatollah out of funds for arms. He then took those funds & used them to buy weapons for the contras who overthrew the communist government & as a result Nicaragua is now a democracy. Daniel Ortega was once again beaten in an election just a few mos ago. Ollie also sent out orders from the White House for U.S. fighter jets to force a passenger jet to land in order to remove the terrorist who threw a handicapped American tourist(while still in his wheelchair) overboard from a cruise ship. The Nicaraguan people made it clear which type of government they prefer when they voted NO to Ortega just recently. They might still be toiling under an oppressive government if Pres Reagan & Oliver North did not have the courage to do what had to be done at the time. Liberals, would still be discussing what we should do about the communists spreading revolution in our back yard. He who hesitates at crucial times in History lives to regret it.
