Last week, I read that Bush has to express his opinions on the complex issues in the Israel-Palestinian conflict in short declarative sentences. To make matters worse, neither Zinni nor Bush have been trained in the areas of diplomacy.
History tells us that Stalin also tried to get rid of Islam. He failed. Gorbachev also tried to push Islam under the rug in Central Asia. And he failed. A new book by Ahmed Rashid entitled, Jihad, The rise of Militant Islam in Central Asia is very good. I haven't finished the book though.
