Mani,

Re: "And they both think that their absolute opinion is so morally right, that
they are both willing to kill children among with everybody else."

I'm afraid that the Palestinians actually target women and children. Hopefully
you can see the difference ... Maybe not.

Make It So,

we all agree that we need peace but the difference of opinion is in what is needed for peace. I do not believe that Arafat is the person to lead Palestinians to peace and there is no "free election" or "party" system among Palestinians.
Terrorists don't want peace, they would have to retire and I am not sure if they are happy with benefits.
While terrorists are out there, Palestinians would not get better treatment because Israelis see potential terrorist in each one of them. Can you blame them?
I believe that the solution, and you may not like it, is to get in and inflict enough damage to terrorist organization so there would be a chance for a new government to develop.

ps unfortunately US supports arafat and the above maybe impossible

You sure? How many children have actually been killed on the Palestinian side in the intifada?

Mani, <Andreas hit the nail on the head!>

That there is no absolute definition of good and evil? Then why the heck do we care? Let the Israelis and the Palestinians duke it out and see who cries uncle first. Then the victor will be able to decide for themselves what is good and evil, or what their definition of a "stable society" is.

Here's my black-n-white position on the whole conflict:

1) White is Israeli security and sovereignty.
2) White is Palestinian independence and sovereignty.
3) Black is terrorism.
4) Black is unjust oppression.

One extreme thinks #1 is black and #3 is white. Another thinks #2 is black and #4 is white. To be sure, it's a simplistic view, but it's a better view to hold than the view that everything is grey.
