Patients from Britain, America and the Middle East are among those who have benefited from the growing trade, focused on countries where poverty is endemic including India, Iraq and eastern Europe. Not just India, Iraq and Eastern Europe but also in China. But the kidneys harvested in China were from prisoners that had been shot. This is illegal in China. But some were harvested and sold, anyway. Well, corruption exists in lots of places, if not everywhere.
