Maybe this is good news, DJ. Germany is to some extent an earthquake economy, like Japan. It takes an economic earthquake to move the social consensus. In any case, until someone smashes the Unions, very little will happen. Warning strikes, ha! The companies should lock the bastards out and hire replacement workers.

No, I meant negative productivity - a decrease in output per worker. The German Federal Statistical Office has now reported 4Q '01 productivity at 0.1%. I had previously seen a different (negative) number.
