12:32 ET WSJ reports NY State AG investigating many other firms : The Wall Street Journal (via Dow Jones) is reporting that NY Attorney General Spitzer is investigating the following firms in connection with the Merrill Lynch (MER) research/investment banking conflict of interest case: Goldman Sachs (GS), Morgan Stanley (MWD), CSFB, Citigroup's Salomon Smith Barney (C), Bear Stearns (BSC), Lehman (LEH), UBS Warburg, and Lazard Freres.
