Talking about wcom. Did you know they charge 15$ for a collect call from prison?

Zeev, there was an article in Forbes last week saying that the phone companies (ATT, WCOM, and Sprint) are all jacking the prices up on the 35% of the super loyal customers who do not switch or compare pricing.

This group's largest demographic is people over 55. That's their strategy for making money when the price of long distance is plunging.

They will all get theirs, as none of these guys will be independent in 2-years, IMO. ATT will be part of SBC, WCOM will be part of Verizon, and Sprint will go to whoever is left. The ones on the outside will be people like LVLT.

I believe he has a core position in WCOM but also has a trading account that he buys and sells WCOM. So, technically he always has a position in WCOM. When the stock was at 15.00, I told him I had a dream that WCOM fell out of bed and he should sell....LOL I joke with him that he will go to his grave with WCOM certs.

ps. He recently had a margin call and I suspect another one is on the way.

<<I have no doubts that Hands On is a good and caring person>> i can affirm that Hands is exactly that(a PMing friend and from Philly originally), but he may himself have gotten slammed very very hard on this one. He has been playing with fire on this one. max

Zeev, I can't say I have much good to say about any of these phone companies. Their disdain for both their own customers, and common shareholders, makes me wish for nothing but bad things to happen to their share prices.

Real life seems to be cooperating ...
