Family Ursidae 2. medium-sized furry animal: an animal that resembles but is unrelated to the true bear, for example, the koala 3. See teddy bear 4. bad-tempered person: somebody who is surly or ill-tempered (informal) 5. difficult thing: something difficult to experience or endure (slang) *6. somebody who anticipates negativity* in stock prices: somebody who sells stocks or commodities in anticipation of falling prices.
