It's actually a fight I'm having some fun with (except for the amount of time I've had to spend on the phone) because PacBell has taken up the fight.

When I first protested the charge to ATT and they refused to budge, I called PacBell because it's on the PacBell bill that the charges appeared. They have a third party ombudsman for just such disputes. What they did was take the charge of my PacBell bill and reported to ATT that that's what they'd done. Now it was up to ATT to collect directly from me. They sent a letter saying that if I didn't pay, it would be reported to Experian.
