Valence Announces Annual Meeting AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2002--Valence Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:VLNC - news), a leader in the development and commercialization of lithium-ion polymer rechargeable batteries, today announced that it will hold its 2002 annual meeting of stockholders on July 23, 2002. In addition to the official business to be conducted at the meeting, management will report fiscal 2002 results, discuss Valence's progress in achieving its goals and respond to questions from its stockholders. Valence also announced that it has established May 10, 2002 as the record date of its 2001 annual meeting of stockholders and will hold the meeting on May 28, 2002. The only business to be conducted at this meeting is the election of directors, and management will not make any presentations.
