I've heard him speak on the topic a number of times (I think three times this week)... and I agree with you on what he sounds like... but the people around him are definitely split. Z, no question they are split....how Powell got control speaks to his position and the respect given him in the administration. I feel sorry for the guy......his butt is hanging out there. However, does the fact that the U.S. gives Israel aid mean that Israel has to listen to absolutely everything Bush says? I'd argue that Israel has to look out for the safety of its people above all. I don't know.......I know that Israel does not have that many substantive friends, and it needs those that it does have. And its not often an American president publicly makes such a demand. So what do you think is the answer to that question? ted
