The Palestinians didn't acknowledge themselves as a "people" until after Israel was established. They're a hodge-podge of different Arab groups, most of whom ended up in Palestine in the years between 1850 and 1947. It was actually considered insulting to call them "Palestinians" until the 1940s.

They could have had a state. The Arabs took it away from them. The Jews did not.

to rephrase it, arab states don't care about Palestinians but their support for palestinians come from hatred of Israel. Nice.....
