There is a tradition being followed there. Henry Kissinger worked hard in Paris, 1968, to assure "four more years" in Viet Nam, before essentially the same terms were agreed to. People throw the work "treason" around pretty loosely these days, I have a hard time taking it seriously while Kissinger bloviates on and on.
