Aberdeen Says IT Spending To Recover Later This Year
By InternetWeek.com
Aberdeen Group said today that IT spending will reach $1.43 trillion by 2005, with rates beginning to rise again later this year after a flat year 2001.

"Spending will begin to recover this year, although the degree and exact timing of that recovery will vary from country to country," said Hugh Bishop, Aberdeen senior vice president, in a statement.

Aberdeen predicted that spending growth will be "significantly lower" then the double-digit rates of the late 1990s. With spending tighter, some vendors will emerge as winners—but some will disappear as they fail to capture a piece of the spending pie.

Thanks, Charles. Didn't mean to put you on the spot but your straight input is appreciated by me and others on this thread, I'm sure. Have been disappointed after the fall off of SUNW from the 10 area but it looks like it may consolidate in here. Hopefully, earnings report will be based on quality numbers and guidance will be a healthy positive. And hopefully the judge will look favorably on 'just' MSFT penalties as opposed to a 'reward'.
