>speaking of which, P. Jennings was on Larry King tonite. Apparently, he lived in Israel for quite some time. One issue he brought up is how difficult it is to speak in this country about the conflict over there. He said that what was even more perilous to your health was to bring up the notion that the Palestinians have some reason for complaint....apparently, he has been accused from time to time of being pro Arafat. In reality, he said he thinks Arafat needs to go; that he's lost quite a while ago any advantage he once had in promoting the goals of the Palestinian people.

Ummm...Peter Jennings dated Hanan Ashrawi, one of Arafat's spokeswomen... she's one of the biggest political scumbags in this whole mess...

>An interesting point he brought up was that two years ago at Camp David, Arafat was ready to sign the peace agreement but then something stopped him. I missed what that something was because at that point, someone interrupted me [I was at the gym] and I missed what he said [it was closed captioning]. Do you know what might have prevented Arafat from signing?

Israel refused to give him all of Jerusalem and the Right of Return.
