08:12 ET Jobless Claims seen falling to 425K
The Jobless Claims data at 8:30 ET will be more closely watched than usual due to last week's spike to 460K which the Labor Dept indicated was due to filings for extended benefits recently approved by Congress; economists expect these extended filings to keep claims above trend again this week at 425K, but the market will be hoping for some kind of decline as well as more specifics from the Labor Dept regarding just how much of the recent gain was due to extended filings.
