Siebel Systems Clarifies Media Reports From Madrid New Economy Forum
SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2002--Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:SEBL - news) today responded to a Bloomberg media report titled ``Siebel Sees as Many as 200 Information Cos. Closing in 2002,'' referencing Thomas M. Siebel's speech before the New Economy Forum in Madrid on April 10, 2002.

According to Siebel Systems, the Bloomberg report misrepresented the facts and quoted Mr. Siebel out of context. To clarify, Mr. Siebel made a number of remarks in response to questions about state of the economic recovery and the software industry in general. However, during this talk, Mr. Siebel explicitly declined to comment about the results of Siebel Systems, first quarter operating results, and the outlook for the balance of the year.
