No just middle east: Jewish soccer team attacked, one member seriously injured
Thu Apr 11,12:26 PM ET

BONDY, France - Amid a spate of recent anti-Semitic attacks in France, a Jewish amateur soccer team was attacked during a training session in a Paris suburb and one of its members seriously hurt, French police said Thursday.

Around 15 hooded attackers wielding sticks and metal bars assaulted the team of teenagers from the Maccabi Bondy association, a Jewish group, late Wednesday after making anti-Semitic remarks.

One member of the team suffered a cut to the head and received hospital treatment but wasn't thought to be in danger.

French Sports Minister Marie-George Buffet issued a statement condemning the attack as "indescribable."

"I am convinced that the young people of France, of whatever opinion and of all origins, will take action to defend the spirit of tolerance and dialogue," Buffet said.

Synagogues, Jewish schools and cemeteries around the country have been targeted, often with firebombs, in recent weeks as fighting has escalated between Israelis and Palestinians. In the most serious case, a Marseille synagogue was burned to the ground on March 31.

Re. The Battle of Jenin:

Is it El Alamein? Quite possibly. It will certainly begin to put serious dents in the aura of invincibility that Arab terror was beginning to cloak itself in. I think the Afghan campaign also helped. Come to think of it we've seen this pattern many times before.

1. Arab bravado - "Mother of all Battles" "Lakes of Blood"
2. Street demonstrations designed to intimidate.
3. The left screaming about imperialism, hegemonism, body bags, quagmire etc etc.
4. Someone stands tall and begins the military strikes.
5. The left and Arabs scream about civilian casualties.
6. Superior firepower, organization, and training turn the tide - military victory.
7. Arabs claim victory because some survived the battle and live to fight another day.

What is NOT needed here is to stop before the job is done. When Arabs start to say "Allah has abandoned us," will we be closer to victory and safety. God, I hope Bush II doesn't make the same damned mistake his old man did. Sure, Bush wanted to do Iraq before anything else, but too bad, the battle is joined, the battle is here, the battle is in Israel now. Finish it. Let Sharon finish it.

I've yet to hear of any Arab armies mobilizing, have you?
