ralfph...no argument here..the white-imposed reserve system has created its' own set of problems....... sounds at lot like Ottawa eh? ;).....never prospected with any but did sign up with marcos' assimilation plan......going on a few years now........my mother-in-law was a native from the Chilcotin country and of the finest ladies you would ever want to meet....you mention "equality"...a fine word indeed...I think back to when I was a young immigrant lad in rural Alberta...riding the school bus watching this young "Indian" girl about my age sitting by herself with tears streaming down her face...while the taunts of "sqaw" were hurled at her......often wonder whatever happened to her.......oh well........gotta go visit the tree again...the dog wants to take a leak...
