Do remember that those Eastern European Jews had been there for at least 1900 years. Naturally, they'll have lighter skin than ones spending the entire time in the Middle East.

It takes 10s if not 100s of thousands of years for this kind of genetic change to take place - or - extensive intermerriage with the white European population, substantially diluting the "input" of the original Jews.
