The program is designed to share AMD's latest technology as well as help system builders gain additional success in the white box PC market.
``The Team AMD Tech Tour is one of the ways in which AMD helps our system builders reach their sales goals in the marketplace,'' said Robert Fuller, director of North America Field Marketing for AMD. ``We'll bring our innovative technology, and that of our hardware and software partners, to 16 cities in the United States and Canada. The program is designed to allow AMD to collaborate with its system builder partners on developing and delivering solutions to their customers.''
Each seminar will include breakout sessions on new technology and sales techniques that can help AMD's system builder partners work with their customers. Attendees at each seminar will have an opportunity to talk one-on-one with representatives from different companies at an AMD-hosted vendor showcase.
``We believe that our market-share gains in 2001 in the commercial desktop segment show that our system builders are finding success with the award-winning AMD Athlon(TM) family of processors, which encompasses top-to-bottom solutions for desktop, mobile, server and workstation needs,'' Fuller said. ``Our goal is to help our system builder partners become even more successful.''
``MSI, which currently offers a wide array of AMD-recommended motherboards, continues to support AMD products and technologies as a Program Sponsor of the spring 2002 Team AMD Tech Tour,'' said Calvin Wu, CEO of MSI Computer Corp. ``We would like to invite system builders to visit us again this year. The tour will offer a lot of excellent technical information, as well as fun, for our system builder colleagues.''
``The Team AMD Tech Tour offers NVIDIA another avenue to help system builders grow their business, a market that is critical to NVIDIA's worldwide success,'' said Oliver Baltuch, director of Strategic Marketing at NVIDIA Corporation. ``By offering education, collateral and other valuable data along with the innovative nForce, GeForce and AMD Athlon XP products, NVIDIA and AMD are providing system builders with the essential tools to build the ultimate PC.''
``As a participant in the Team AMD Tech Tour seminars, we are looking forward to presenting to our system builder colleagues the powerful combination of AMD processors and Phoenix's breakthrough FirstWare Rescue product line,'' said Susan L. Kennedy, vice president of Product Marketing, FirstWare Platform and Products, Phoenix Technologies. ``Our `always-available' pre-OS FirstWare solutions are designed to dramatically reduce manufacturing and support costs, and provide excellent up-sell opportunities to increase margins on each PC sold.''
