While you wallow on the beaches of Waikiki you can not imagine how statements like that conjure up the notion of the "Ugly American". That kind of pomposity rings hollow in the ears of 3000 ex-New Yorkers I imagine. I will not allow myself to surrender to the notion that you represent the broad American population. I pray to God that you are not the America I grew up with and had learned to respect and admire.
