I wish there were more, though. At least more Muslims in this country who had expressed their horror publicly. More mosques that made clear their condemnation of the murders.

I may have already told here about a friend of mine who, not long after 9/11, went to a local mosque with a couple of other friends of hers when she saw an "open house" mentioned in the paper. She asked the head of the mosque why, since he was saying how terrible the deaths were, he had made no public statement at all expressing his disapproval of the terrorists.

He answer was, "That would be ego."
