In addition to the discrepancies noted in today's article, I recall a report the day his body was found. It seems a squad car had passed by his conspicuously parked car in the wee hours, and reported later they had seen him, or someone, sitting in the car seemingly alive. It sounded as if Baxter might have been waiting to meet someone. When the squad car drove by 15 minutes later he was dead.
