He's not talking about "Borg nature", but instead about "human nature". I am not avoiding the authors point rather taking it forward to its ultimate conclusion. Human nature of peace is exactly what I am reaching at, the nature of humans to co-exist after conflict, the nature of human is to survive not to self consume is far more superior, that is why we have survived, please look at the next line, my whole emphasis is that the kids should not be made a cannon fodder of lost opportunities. I would also like to remind that when the opportunity arose to negotiate with the Borg, the Star Trek "Voyager" did so in order to preserve itself.
