I watched the "Lehrer Report" on PBS tonight and the footage they used was devastating to Israel. They might as well have held up burned babies. I really am disturbed by all this so-called "Senior White House Staff" leakage. We have had none of that from Bush up to now, so it must be deliberate. But, all I can do is stew and say "TWT"

Bill, I hate to say this, but I think we are only at the beginning of these sorts of programs. I have no doubt the Israeli army did things that will look bad; no doubt that American television, for the moment, will air all of that stuff it can find; and, no doubt, that, because it undermines the Sharon govt, some of it will be made up.

I repeat: I think Sharon is not good for long term Israeli security issues. Latest Kristoff op ed piece coming up in the proverbial New York minute. Same point.

By the way, what is TWT? If it is repeatable in a family forum.

"none of that up till now"? LB, where in the world do you think the whole "Democracy in Iraq" line came from? It's been floating around for months. Cheney is a legendary infighter, he and Rumsfeld supposedly outmanuevered Henry Kissinger from the right in the Ford Administration.

It's pretty obvious when all the bloviating pundits start bloviating the same line in unison, they're being fed it from somewhere. The main thing with W up till now, the line has usually been consistent. Personally, I think it's good for there to be dissention and debate, I don't like the idea of American foreign policy being another "friends of Cheney" operation like American energy policy.
