Segundo punto: You are right on the spot the Euro carriers would not give GSM1X a second look. It would be crazy but far easier to change the core than the radio interface of the GSM. Why? Because changing the radio interface would mean changing the handsets, and the services, and the roaming would be gone too, as well as the wealth of selection of handsets, the low price of them, plus the carrier selection freedom which you achieve by inserting a different SIM card to your phone. The consumers know a betamax system when they see one. Did I mention the colored snap-on covers? I challenge all you on this thread (who have not put me on ignore which is hardly 50% of you morons) to put a case for GSM1X. Well knowing no challenge will emerge. We all know why. - rajala
