Twister - I said they had The Perception of architectural dominance. I got out of my position at near 60, and when I congratulated our grappa-drinking Israeli friend on doing the same, had a long debate with JC about whether I qualified as a long because I had done my play using LEAPs and not stock... I made a lot of money on Sun, and perhaps will do so again. But I also got out at the right time.

The Perception of architectural dominance did a lot for Sun in the dot.com boom. I attended JavaOne a few weeks ago and I can tell you that perception has evaporated. Sun is still a strong technology company but they need to get back to what they do best and get a mission.
