08:32 ET Retail Sales up 0.2%, ex-autos up 0.4; slightly below consensus : Retail Sales rose 0.2% in March, with
ex-auto sales up 0.4%; this number was weaker than the 0.4% consensus, but the ex-autos increase was only a tenth light - these numbers are unlikely to change the market's optimism concerning consumer spending. PPI rose 1.0%, much higher than the 0.6% consensus, but this was an energy story - core PPI was up 0.1%, right in line with the consensus. Neither of these reports is likely to have much market impact.
