I probably would probably be able to support a small amount of tilting the welfare system towards marriage if you are going to have a welfare system anyway.

I am in favor of correcting the tilt against marriage that was present for many years in the welfare system, if we're going to have a welfare system anyway. I object however, to using tax dollars create a program to promote marriage. And I particularly object to this kind of social engineering when it comes from the right, with its message of keeping the government off our backs. That stuff is bad enough when it comes from the left, which doesn't know any better.
