Ya, I noticed that there's no concern over the last suicide bombing & the fact that Powell may now cancel his meeting with Arafat tomorrow. That won't bring peace anytime soon IMO....................

Jerusalem terror bomber kills 6

Police say at least 6 people were killed and more than 60 were wounded when a female suicide bomber blew herself up at a bus stop in a crowded central Jerusalem market. The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a military wing of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, claimed responsibility. U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell is now reassessing his plans to meet with Arafat on Saturday, a State Department spokesman said.

<The Venezualian thing is very negative in my mind.> if Venezuela starts pouring crude on the market it would be viewed as good news.

The Venezualian thing is very negative in my mind.

At the risk of sounding like a really "ugly American," I think that the Venezualian thing has been resolved, (at least for the time being), in the traditional Latin American fashion. I.E., a military strong man has taken control.

Sure, the guy will probably have death squads operating soon, but with all the violence in the Middle East it should be at least a year before the media and/or the international goody-goody organizations take notice and declare it a "crisis" that must be addressed.

In the meantime, the oil will flow.

well all must not be good about Venezuela as U.S. has reiterated its warning statement that no U.S. citizens should travel to Venezuela.

Venezuela/Hugo Chavez:
Chavez was an unmitigated negative while he was in power. To have him ousted with relatively little loss of life and stability is an unmitigated plus. He was anti-American, anti-business and restricted the supply of oil to some extent. Venezuela is one of our largest suppliers of crude. Let's just acknowledge this for what it is - an external political event with positive implications for the U.S. economy and business community.
