Intel - lowering 2q bar next week ?

4/12/02 02:38 PM EDT

Analyst chatter thinks Intel will lower revenue guidance for 2q next week to a 5% - 6% decline, from First Call's current 2% decline ($6.8 bl q1 estimate versus $6.67 q2 estimate). Eps estimated at $0.15, with some gross margin upside allowing for $0.16. Hard to think where upside could come from, with absolutely no evidence of turn in PC upgrade cycle. However with Intel's operating leverage, we hold since when the turn does come the earnings and cash flow delta will get bid into the stock price in a hurry
