Sylvestor,
<< I guess they are being funded so well to they can get the new super turbocharged slingshot and new super polished rocks. They are being funded so well as to quit life and kill themselves. >>
You are very close to a key point with this comment.
One key difference (among many) between the Israelis and the Arabs, is that the Israelis take care of their brothers. I can't quote the numbers (perhaps Zeev or others can fill it in), but Israel had a huge refugee problem just like the Arabs did, but Israel chose to help their brothers and eliminate the problem. In contrast, the Arabs chose to use the "Palestinian" refugees as political pawns to further their own ends.
Yes, the "Palestinian people" are the result of heartless, hateful abuse, but not by Israel. The "Palestinian people" have been tortured and abused by the Arab people for decades in a shameful, terrible way. The Arab nations could have easily absorbed these refugees and they would have been a complete non-issue, but the Arab leaders need a wedge driven between them and Israel, and these refugees proved to be a useful tool for them. How else could they justify their often voiced goal of the complete destruction of the nation of Israel if not to make Israel look like the villain.
(In fact, I would not be surprised if the Arabs were the ones who shot the bell-ringer in the Church of the Nativity. His death seemed a tab bit too convenient as a way of promoting the Arab cause and tactics like this are often used by them. Furthermore, I would not be surprised if the Arabs torch the Church of the Nativity and blame it on Israel. The whole world is watching and this may be an opportunity too "good" for those evil men to pass up. I hope that I am wrong, because if this happens, the whole world could be stirred up against Israel, not the least of whom would be the Italian with the big hat and the Russians. Time will tell.)
Israel can do nothing to bring peace short of killing themselves off so that the Arabs wouldn't have to go to the trouble. As long as there is one living Israeli in the Middle East, Arab hatred will foment war against him. Land for peace is a sucker's game. If Israel gives up land, they risk their very survival.
Imagine that you are walking down a dark alley late at night and ten gang members suddenly surround you, shout hateful threats against you, and point guns at your head. You quickly draw your gun and point it towards the head of one of the thugs. When they see your weapon, your only hope for survival, they change their demeanor and gently request that you trade: "Gun for Peace." These angry murderers promise you the following: "Give us the gun and you won't be hurt." Who would be foolhardy enough to hand over his weapon? It would mean certain death.
Israel's mere existence is what the Arab world hates. Not all Arabs, of course. I know several very peaceful, wonderful Arab people whom I count among my dearest friends. But the Koran teaches hate and destruction of the Jews, so the "extremist" or "fundamental" Muslims who take the Koran seriously believe that they do their moon god a favor by killing a Jew. The homocide bombers are distraught, confused, and hopeless people because they have been lied to from birth and raised like pitbulls to hate and attack Isrealis. They are very sad pawns in this whole aweful situation, but their "Arab brothers" are to blame, not the Israelis.
I do not have much time for message boards like this. Especially with a subject that is so emotional and is victim of so much misinformation (some deliberate and some not). If I can contribute anything to this discussion, let it be the following:
1. To find out what is really happening in the Middle East today, read the Torah / Old Testament. You will be amazed!
2. The best video that I have seen on this subject, and that I highly recommend, is called, "Israel, Islam, and Armageddon - The Final Battle for Jerusalem". It is available for $16 at tbcorders.org, BUT I BELIEVE SO STRONGLY IN THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS INFORMATION THAT I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SEND A BRAND NEW SHRINK-WRAPPED COPY OF THIS VIDEO TO ANYONE WHO REQUESTS IT BY PM AND GIVES ME AN ADDRESS TO SEND IT TO. P.O. boxes or work addresses are fine. I will not keep or misuse any of the addresses. I just want to share this information with anyone who is willing to watch it. If you do not want to PM an address to me, then please spend the $16. It will be an extremely eye-opening one hour of information.
If Bush can't solve this problem, I certainly can't either, but the video is available to anyone who would like to see a perspective that I strongly agree with and think is quite provocative.
3. May those of us fortunate enough not to be embroiled in this fighting, strive to live at peace with each other. Yes, we are all brothers, descendents not only of Adam, but of Noah also. It is the sin in our hearts that has brought about all the pain and violence in this world. We have all lied, stolen, and committed adultery countless times in our hearts through lustful thoughts and desires. We have clearly broken these three great Commandments of G-d, and with just a little honest reflection, I trust that you will agree that we are all guilty of the other seven as well. We stand condemned before G-d and one day we will all face judgment. Instead of fighting each other, we should all be searching the Holy Scriptures for a solution to our own monumental problem: coming judgment and certain punishment. Hell awaits the soul that sins and eternity is a really, really, really long time. Repent and turn from your sins before your heart beats its last. Seek the Lord while He may be found. This life is a vapor and too soon is passed.

My sincere regards to everyone on this thread wrestling with the most unsolvable problem in all human history:
Zechariah 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. |
