They are civilians that have lost all hope for a brighter better future and are willing to say "why should I live a life like this".

You really need to get a clue what hopelessness is in this world.

Have you read any of the news reports about the Afghan refugee camps ? These are *genuine* refugee camps, where the people risk mass starvation without international aid. And the way things are going in that country, I don't see much of an end of the tunnel.

Ever hear of North Korea ? That's a Stalinian regime that makes Saddam's Iraq look like a moderate country. It's again only through international aid that there is not mass starvation in that country, and in fact in 1995 there was widespread famine there. That's another example of some real hopelessness. And oh, yes, before I forget, we don't see much on the scene reporting in North Korea do we ? Where are all the complaints about that regime not allowing reporters in ?

The Palestinians don't live in "refugee camps". In refugee camps you don't have running water, or electric lines. People don't make a run on the local convenience stores or bakeries to stock up before the Israelis come through. Refugees don't have money to buy black market assault weapons or military grade explosives to make suicide belts.

The shanty towns in South and Central america make Palestine look like paradise. They don't have any running water or sewage whatsoever. Why isn't the European Union calling for a total economic blockade against these countries for this ?

I'm the first to agree that it is not in any way in Israel's interest to not have economic health among the Palestinians, but these claims about despair driving the Intifada are arrant nonsense.

The Intifada is being lead by lunatics in the likes of Hamas who think nothing of destroying the lives of other people in a search for personal power and glory, all hidden behind a stupid rhetoric about religion and territory.

Show me the Hamas leader sending his own children to strap on the explosive belt.

The Mideast conflict has been one of the worlds biggest con jobs going. Because resolution of the situation isn't going to change let alone improve life for Muslims anywhere else in the world. All it does is line the pockets of the criminals in the PLO, Hamas, and other groups who profit fully from the present situation.

Because, Hamas would be a complete zero if a peace treaty were ever signed.
