re: I just can't respect these tactics.
I am not sure what you mean by that, do you thing that I approve?
re: Abject poverty, that's really about it.
I thought I made clear already few times that Palestinians are suffering and I understand that. My point was that unless militant portion of Palestinians would be neutralized it is unlikely that it would get better. You can not ask Israeli's to trust Palestinians while suicide bombings are daily occasion in a very small country

But unfortunately, the Palestinian and Arab leaders are deliberately trying to make such comparisons to evoke strong emotions and perhaps get some non-Israeli Jews to support their cause. More propaganda.

For instance, every year, on the same day the Jews have a Holocaust Commemoration Day (Yom Hashoah), the Arabs commemorate the "Deir Yassin Massacre", when, in the Israeli War of Independence, many Palestinians were killed in the village of Deir Yassin when they were trying to attack the Israelis. This is, once again, by design. How do they celebrate it? They protest against Israel. This year, at the University of California-Berkeley, the Muslim students, as well as left-wing Americans, celebrated it by protesting at a Yom Hashoah memorial service.

Z, I would never trivialize the Holocaust but frankly, I don't believe comparing the conditions of the Warsaw Ghetto with the conditions of refugee camps does that. My reason for making the comparison is that I see some similarities between the two cultures which gives them some [albeit small] common ground. Knowing that may eventually help them to resolve their differences.
