IE-t...in the news: Ivanhoe Energy raises $10-million (U.S.) Thu 18 Apr 2002 Mr. John MacDonald reports IVANHOE ENERGY COMPLETES US$10 MILLION FINANCING Ivanhoe Energy has closed a $10-million (U.S.) ($15.8-million (Canadian)) special warrant financing to advance the company's deep-gas drilling program in California's San Joaquin basin and for general corporate purposes. The financing consists of 5.0 million special warrants at $2 (U.S.) ($3.16 (Canadian)) per special warrant. Each special warrant entitles the holder to acquire one common share of Ivanhoe at no additional cost, at any time until the close of business on the fifth business day after the earlier of (i) the date upon which applicable Canadian provincial securities commissions issue receipts for the company's final prospectus; and (ii) 120 days after the closing of the financing. The financing was placed with a single Canadian institution. Upon conversion of all the special warrants, Ivanhoe will have approximately 145 million shares outstanding.
