Israel really tried to give the Palestinians a state two years ago, and they'd still like to, but they can't give any more than they offered and remain a Jewish state, and the Palestinian leadership turned it down and started the intifada, and all of the Arab leaders agreed with the decision. They want the Palestinians to remain refugees. The refugee issue has accomplished more for the Arab cause than their armies ever did. -Z
