It seems the strategy, at least as it pertains to Arafat, is to keep him in one place while trying to prove to the world that he's a murderer. Unfortunately, the Arabs regard his brand of murder as freedom fighting, so I don't think Israel will be able to avoid war with them. Z, Israel will avoid war with the Arab nations because they have the same info re. Israel's military prowess as we do. That's why I think this thing has the danger of turning into a long lived stalemate...........and thus, the status quo. Remember, the Palestinians undertake their suicide bombings because they can't compete with Israel on the fighting field. And as you well know, there are a number of ways to skin a cat. ted
