I am not the expert, but my simple view says that the key to peace and prosperity is a balanced growth in the standard of living for all peoples of the world. In the US during Reagan and Bush I the rich prospered at the expense of the lower class. During Clinton all Americans prospered and we had the greatest economic boom ever.

So if you take away boundaries and create mechanisms were all nations prosper a worldwide boom will ensue. Nationalism is evil to world wide prosperity. The key for a nation to succeed is to invest in emerging technology and educate its citizens to capture high value business and jobs which will prosper the society ever greater. That should a main goal of any Administration.

To worry about low tech low pay jobs like textiles going off shore is moronic.

So the key is to have a great game plan that prepares your citizens to capture the best businesses and jobs.

The current administration is focused on nationalism, isolationism, "protectionism' and poking other nations in the eye, while being totally fiscally irresponsible. That is a formula for failure.
