Jonathan,
I made my mind up on MKSI - to me that is inflated and it's valuation not really justifyable. I bought VECO and TGAL for it when it was still cheap and MKSI had its first run to $34. You are right about the roll-up fear. I too prefer organic growth. However one SPOT would be very important to fill, it's right now a blind spot on MKSI's map: to my knowledge they have no MBE (Molecular Beam Epitaxy) line yet. VECO recently took over private Applied Epitronics. Other players here include TMO (VG-Semicon), Riber of france (Listed on the Paris Stock Exchange) and a couple of others..

VECO had a similar story just stome quarters earlier.. Integration costs took their toll on VECO and the stock dropped to a Price/Sales of under 2. That could be in shore for MKSI as well. Acquisitions usually need to be digested and that usually hurts earnings-wise..

Stay with GGNS. That's a fine comapny,. TRKN ? Top notch in its niche but I know too little about it..
