The brain cells that have atropied and lost their function can be replaced by brain cells that have been developed from stem cells. The cells can be genetically engineered into mature neurons and injected into the centers of the brain where the original cells are no longer functioning.

That type of research is already being done with stroke victims. The next step is for Alzheimers, Parkinsons and for spinal cord injuries.....the prospects are amazing.

I have seen some research along this path already. Bush is truly stopping some magnificient work in progress. THe scientists will probably go to another country and develop the technology. Perhaps the Republicans will outlaw the treatments in this country after the cures are realized?????????????????????? What fools!
