Very good question.

You are presuming that value judgements are, de facto--both irrelevant AND unjust.

I don't have anything against value judgements, however, I don't appreciate value judgments made with attitide--hautiness, contempt, which, in addition to anger, is what is conveyed by righteous indignation. Modifying indignation with "righteous" is technically redundant. So adding it where it is not necessary exaggerates the meaning to something more like "self-righteous," which ain't a pretty thing.

Some say apathy is a character flaw, but i guess if those they accuse don't really care, it can't matter very much

'The Israeli Army today rejected any
suggestion that it had committed atrocities
during the nine-day-old assault on the
Palestinian refugee camp in Jenin. But the
army continued to block relief workers and
reporters from reaching the camp...

the past three days have been named "Jenin."
