The point in each of those cases was to terrorize a civilian population, the better to force a surrender. I see your argument but it strikes me as minor differences within a set of cases all very similarly defined by the above. As for the Red Tent, I'll have to ask my wife and she's now given up for the evening. so I'll ask in the morning. All i know for certain is it's a novel based on some scripture. And since her memory of those courses we both had so many years ago is much better than mine, I'll have to ask her.
