No, it's my mistake and you're quite right, I think. Thanks for the correction. But then why the commentary against RDRAM in the thesis associated with the project?

The closest to software that I saw was the "Embedded Software in Network Processors", which being about embedded software, is at least halfway an EE design issue. (Most of the embedded software engineers I know have EE degrees.)
