Right, don't underestimate Bush Sr's manipulations to help his son. Key players in the Houston energy and pollution lobby/cabal were James Baker, the family's chief legal advisor and CEO of an Enron type company, Chevron, the huge powerhouse which had Bush Sr. Condaleeza Rice, well-paid, the Saudis whom Bush Sr. and Cheney saved so they owed him oil price hikes during the campaign as a pay-back. Cheney himself, the most ruthless and cynical military-oil business top operative ever created, Colin Powell, who mysteriously made 50 million dollars in the past four years since leaving the military (somehow), George Schultz and the Bectel corporation, a very private powerhouse company working behind the scenes and of course Enron. GW needed a lot of help from Poppy (who wanted his own personal revenge) and boy did he get it. Of course Poppy and friends got him elected Governor in thge first place, without any qualifactions other than his last name. Bush Sr., James Baker, Dick Cheney and Chevron could have easily gotten the Saudi family to cut back on production during the 2000 race in order to create an artificial energy crisis to benefit themselves and GW. Then came the domestic energy crisis where obvious huge manipulations and gouging were the rule led by Enron in an attack of Democratic and very rich Northern California especially. grey Davis was also a special target as they feared him as a 2004 competitor. Every single company involved in delivering and controlling energy to the US and California was closely involved in the Bush campaign. Every single one. And let's not forget the crucial Unocal-Halliburton-Enron pipeline through Taliban Afghanistan. It's the reaon we'd laid off the Taliban, and one of the secret reasons we went to war there so decisively. But to make all this work, they had to pull off one big ruse TO SCARE AMERICANS INTO GIVING UP ANY HOPE OF EVER GETTING OFF OIL ANY TIME IN THE NEXT 40 YEARS. That, my friends, is the biggest scandal of all time in my opinion, because we could get off it 20-30 years earlier and cutg pollution if we had the right leaders. Bin Lauden is all the excuse we need now to wean ourselves off Arab oil. So what Bin Lauden gives GW (popularity against a boogey man) he might also take away (distrust of OPEC and disgust with Big Energy in general).
